Canada Goose Hunting Guide
in South Dakota

Our South Dakota Early Canada Goose Season is a great opportunity to start your season with some BIG Goose action!

Just picture yourself watching the sunrise, over a dew covered wheat field, as small lines of geese begin to appear in the distance. As they V up in formation and start to approach the decoys, you will begin to hear their calls and very soon, the buzzing of the air beneath their wings! Your heart will begin to race, as they set their wings to glide into the hole, as the first geese in the flock land within a few feet of our blinds! Your guide will then call the shot. As you rise out of your blind, you will find yourself looking down the barrel at a huge Canada Goose and for that instant, the whole world seems to stand still, as you take aim! If you would like to write the end of this story, we have the trip for you!

Canada Goose Hunts in South Dakota

Our early season goose hunts take place around the Watertown, SD area. This area is in the heart of the glacial lakes belt that runs through eastern SD, with ample nesting area. We produce a lot of our birds locally, to the point that we are now overpopulated!

We currently have a 15 bird per person per day limit and we have a state funded bird donation program for donating your extra birds to the Food Shelf. All you need to participate in the September season is a $45. Non-resident license and your Federal duck stamp.

Our daily hunts will start 1 hour before legal shooting and we will hunt until noon. We do not hunt the afternoon, but if you would like, we can take you on an afternoon fishing trip, for an extra charge.
